Here it is

So hi, I'm Katie, and I suffer from an extreme case of procrastination, forgetfulness, and laziness. If you didn't know the listed before or if they were not obvious before, they should be now. I like to start off with apologizes for two things, missing my day (again) and for skimming your posts. Don't worry, though, I go back while righting mine to address everything!

This week was one of the better, for the most part. I found out that I really love Massachusetts and want to live there, forever and ever. I can't tell you how much I love it there because I don't think I can put it into words. Also Connecticut is the most kicking place when it comes to clean energy. They use waste-to-energy which burns garbage for energy use! The only in New England I believe and it's European tech with I found more or less awesome. What I can't seem to stand is why everyone doesn't just do this. It seems to take care of the over baring plastic problem, and no toxins are released into the air, so why not? Oh, right, money. Well it saves so much money and I can't get over how cool it is!

Sorry a bit of a rant there but it just fascinates me! Our grade has been learning about energy and revolutions as a part of our whole unit of work this trimester, and we did field work on it this week. Field work is basically like a field trip, but more notes and work go into it. We went to the town of Lowell (pronounced lol) Massachusetts to one of the old cotton mills. Anyway I just found out that I want to live anywhere but Rhode Island because we do nothing to conserve or help the environment and the only thing we're good for is Newport and beaches.

More ranting, yay! I have to stick with Envirothon, but I won't join next year, it's too much pressure not enough fun. I mean if we just went out and helped farms or just talked about something besides tree identification or soils I would be much happier. But eh, life goes on. I thought a great deal about Rhode Island type phrases and there are a few. My mom's from California so she tells me this all the time. Words like wicked are apparently very Rhode island. We say bubbler instead of water fountain, and really just the way we talk.

Being fortunate, I don't have a strong accent, but I know people who do and it's great. In the sense that I role on the ground laughing when they talk. We tend to add R's to words and replace L's with W's. Examples are as followed: 'ider' (idea) 'tawk' (talk). I like language differences, probably way to much.

Thanks for the book help, since I've posted that I've read one book called 'Zipped' by a husband and wife the McNeal's. Great book, I recommend it. I too, have been trying to see how many books I can read in a year, so far I'm at four almost five. Not fast, but I have a good feeling about it all. Our class is reading the Lord of the Flies, and for me it's a second time around. That's a good one, as well as Gatsby! I'm so glad you liked it Adam, I loved it! as well as the Catcher in the Rye, but my friends and family didn't. They tell me it was dragged, or it was too boring, but whatever the excuse, I just don't get it. It was a good book, plain and simple. Thoughts? Have you read it? Did you like it?

News I haven't shared is that I build my new desk last weekend, I have yet to build the bookshelf or chair, oh and I'm typing this on my new iMac. It came on Wednesday and I couldn't believe it! It's so nice, I love it! Also, did I ever mention how much I love musicals? I do, a lot. That and Shakespeare plays, which I need to go see, I haven't seen one in ages. Weird question, but what was your first concert and the most memorable one? My first concert was Bon Jovi, and therefore the most memorable. My mom, sister, and I spent the day in Boston on the first of March last year, which I guess is why I'm bringing it up. That and Bon Jovi's playing on my iTunes.

I'm neglecting finishing my homework. I spent three plus hours today trying to do Algebra, and found that the textbook make a nice step stool. Also on the topic of school, do/did you guys ever e-mail your teachers? I do, and quite a lot. They all have account through the school, and for some reason I find myself constantly e-mailing them. Even when it's not school related. Like this song by The Presidents of the United States of America is called 'Blank Baby' which is based off the theory that humans are born with a blank slate (or blank mind), which our class learned about earlier in the year. I found it this week and e-mailed it to my teacher.

I feel like I always e-mail them things like that, but you know, also about homework. Is it just me? Just curious. I think I've said all I've wanted to cover, so upon request, I'll see you next week!

~Katie
