Numb3rs

Imagine this right, I'm sitting around all day watching television on my computer, napping, and reading thinking oh yea I'm going to write it after I do this or this.  The Graham Norton Show comes on, so I'm watching and then it dawns on me "Almost forgot again."

I was watching this video Ze Frank did about restoring faith in humanity and about not giving up the little things, but then i go and have a bad week and all is pretty much lost. Not really somethings that happened to me, just people I know. I went outside a lot though, which is an improvement from my normal hermit-like self. I forgot to do the dishes. Writing that to remind myself when I re-read so I do it.

I don't regret my new hair choice, I just don't think I was quite ready for it not to be long. I'll probably grow it out a bit. However, I don't know if you guys follow Sarcaschicks or Bryarly, but in her recent Sarcaschick video she had a good point about the having short hair. My hair is shorter on one side than the other, because I thought "that's an awesome hair cut I should do something like Bryarly's" so I did... kind of. Mine looks a bit more even I guess and the short side is short... really short. Basically going out this week I noticed a lot more attention drawn to myself which sucks because I don't care for being noticed.

I went to the only drive-in theatre in all of Rhode Island this past Tuesday, and it was overall really awesome. There were three screens that play back-to-back movies and I saw Brave and The Amazing Spider Man. Both awesome. I really enjoyed the New Spider Man, I thought it was better done than the last trilogy. What made it enjoyable was the fact that We arrived at the film two hours early. My sister decided to tune the radio to the correct station so we could just jump right into Brave when it started. It was fine for the first half-hour. Then the songs started repeating. I don't know if you guys do this to, but if I know a song well I have to sing to it. It's a bad habit I guess. The point is I mast have sang Footloose about five or six times. The funniest thing about that was my mother. She couldn't believe that her 15-yaer-old daughter knew all the words AND to top it off knew that the singer was Kenny Loggins and not Kevin Bacon.

So Tuesday was good. Friday, being yesterday, I went to the Big Apple Circus which incase you haven't guessed is a circus. I haven't gone to that particular one in a few years and my grandmother got tickets so my sister and I went and we had a blast. Although the performances were spectacular I didn't find it as wonderful as the audience. I first couldn't believe how many adults were there! There were these two people in general I noticed. A boy and who I presume his father were having a fake sword fight and the father was poking the boy with this glow-in-the-dark sword. The boy then took the sword and poked the father with it. The father acted dead, then came back to life and lightly shook the boy which made the boy jump causes me to giggle uncontrollably.

Adam and Kate I thought that your posts were very made of awesome and very inspirational. Personally I don't think what I like and or do have changed much. I haven't gone through a lot or done much at all this year. The letter I would write to past me would be short. "You had fun. Keep that up." would be the just of it.

I wanted to explain the title a bit before it's Sunday. The show I watched all day and for the past couple weeks is called Numb3rs. Not sure if you've heard of it but I like it. using math to solve crimes basically. I have this weird thing for crime shows I don't know why, just always liked them. I think I'm going to comment more rather than try to reply to everything in a post, so be on the look for that. Oh also are any of you doing the Fahrenheit 451 reading? I'm going to try to. Let's see how it goes!

Not Dead Yet

So hello strangers! I could come up with about a million excuses, but only one is worth explaining. I've been stressed.

Envirothon is a thing that happened yesterday. We didn't place, so no fancy metal or photograph. I'm not too bummed about it, but everyone else was. What I found funny was that because I don't go to my local high school, I didn't compete for their team and they placed second. I'm glad its over so I don't have to worry about it.

Dan Harmon is leaving Community, or at least, that's what I've heard.  I went to my old middle schools' Eco Fair which is just an event outdoors and got a wicked bad sunburn on my arms. Even though I don't get out of school until June 19th I'm still counting the days.

So the Eco Fair was really awesome this year. They had a band, bunnies, horse rides, goats, and a bunch of other venders. I think what I liked most about it though was seeing my friend John. He's a year older and goes to a different school, but great company. There was a booth for desserts and another friend of mine got himself a cupcake. John didn't have money so he tried to pay with a rock. The guy gave him a cookie!

Oh also at Envirothon we got these cool shirts that had a possum on the back (nothing to do with Low Impact Development) and around it in Latin said when it doubt, play dead. I thought that was pretty awesome. And we got free water bottles. It was a huge deal because our congressman or something was there to present awards. He was dressed in the snazzy three piece suit and the rest of us were in jeans and T-shirts.

I started watching Torchwood from the beginning. I forgot how incredible it was. Tofu ice-cream is weird, just note that. My brother graduated College this past Friday too, and I noticed the sign leading up to the school said best wishes. I'm trying to think of things to say, but I haven't been around much. I guess that's how you know when you're done...?

P.S. More next time hopefully

I just really wanted to talk about the blog

Hey and all.As has been previously mentioned I such at remembering things. I ended up finishing all my homework I said I have, but now there is more to be done as usual. One assignment has peeked my interest greatly. We started reading The Omnivore's Dilemma as apart of our new unit of farming and soils and such. My teacher wanted to make reading this book fun, because to be honest it's not exactly a page turner. So his brilliant, and I do mean brilliant, idea was for us all to start blogs. We can't do anything we want, because he has certain tasks for us to complete, but overall I've had a bunch of fun with it. It's practically all I've done all day. If you guys want to check it out it's here: http://katierose42.edublogs.org/.My school has learning targets, which are targets we have to meet in every class each trimester. If we don't meet every one it brings down our grades. So this week I've been trying to remediate those targets to raise my grades. One class I wasn't doing to well in was math. So all I've been doing for lucy this past week is remediating them. He gave me a small quiz yesterday, and I still made a silly mistake on one of the tree targets I was trying to fix. So I have to go back Wednesday to try again.
That has pretty much been my week and part of next week is exams tests and remediations. Mental note to self is to stop failing things. After spending so much time on the school assignment blog I'm not particularly in a write-y kind of mood. Congrats Kate on the District Music Contest! Also to Deidra and Kayla for third in Envirothon. I hope my school places higher than fifth this year. I'm still wicked nervous for it.I started reading American Gods by Neil Gaiman. The only other book I've read by him is Coraline when I was younger so reading one of his other pieces of for is really exciting for me. After I'm going to read Neverwhere.I can't think of anything overly exciting that happened. I guess that's all I have to say. Oh wait Kayla, is Ink fit this description? A lost soul named Ink snatches an 8-year-old girl into the world of dreams. There, he hopes to use her soul to join the ranks of the evil Incubi. If so then I'll watch it later on this week or tonight. Not sure.

In Which I Can't Stop Talking

Start time: 8:15

Getting myself to focus on writing in general is hard. However doing this is a bit easier. Unlike writing an essay I don't have to narrow myself to one topic, I can just write. Though sticking to one topic may seem like the easier thing to do it isn't really. Not in my mind. I tend to bounce all over the place and repeat points. That's why when I write an essay or paper it usually has to go through five drafts in order for it to be less jumpy.

Anyway that was just something to get mind into the swing of things. It's been a real slow week, and I haven't done a lot to be completely honest. Since Monday I (including the aid of my sister and mother) have beed trying to complete the task that is reorganizing and rearranging my room. I have trouble with keeping something in the same order for long periods of time.

When my sister and I first moved into the largest room (located in the basement) I was in the seventh grade by the time they got everything in it's new place. I was really happy with the way it looked, and was for quite some time. However as time passed I slowly began shifting things. Now three years has come and almost passed and I finally convinced them to rearrange things.

I'm not completely sure why I like moving things around after a certain amount of time, but I just get uncomfortable almost if everything looks the same. That's probably why I went to charter schools instead of my own towns school. The three different schools I've been to have moved locations a lot over the years. In fact the school I go to now is still looking for a permanent location.

Enough about my crazy head, more about normal-ish things. As I mentioned before this week has been a vacation and I return on Monday. And as usual there was homework assigned that I haven't completed. I wanted to get it done before Sunday, but I'll be lucky if I get it all done by the beginning of first period on Monday. I might do a little of it tonight, but the chances of that are slim to none.

Kate, I am not familiar I don't think with the meme if someone could explain it that would be lovely. Deidra I'm sorry you had such an off week. I hope it's gotten a bit better I hate when I feel like that. Also congrats on being a Slytherin! Kayla and Deidra I hope Envirothon went well, my competition thing isn't until May 18th. If you could explain what it was like a little that would be awesome. Campion your trip sounded like so much fun! I don't think I could handle being floor manager listening to all those people would make me even more insane.

Adam I hope you enjoy Paper Towns, and I agree with Kate the ending felt a bit off to me. Like I wanted more to come out of it. Speaking of books We end The Catcher in the Rye when we return and I have to say rereading this book on assignment has made me hate it a bit. That always happens when I read books for school. Analyzing books and finding character flaws, symbolism and all that jazz takes the pleasure out of it for me. I mean if I wanted to read more in depth for a book I would. He wants us to find certain words and identify ones we don't know and I CAN'T! It takes so much out of me to actually put in that effort.

Instead of complaining I meant to talk about something completely different. Ever since we started reading Catcher I've been on a huge 50's kick. I've always Liked 50's music but I just haven't been able to listen to anything else for the past couple of months. It was just like the time when I got really in to The Who. I bought a bunch of their CD's, put them on my iPod and found myself listening to only that. I don't know how much longer it'll last, but I don't mind if it never goes away (also like The Who).

Also this annoys me greatly: http://techland.time.com/2012/04/19/5-reasons-the-cispa-cybersecurity-bill-should-be-tossed/ So i think that's about all my brain can focus on...OH WAIT. I saw the Hunger Games on Friday. When the movie was over and my friend left i found a shady area of pavement (sidewalk) and just layed down until my brother came to pick me up. Apparently people stare at you when you take a nap on the sidewalk. Who knew? Okay that's all, I swear.

End Time: 9:09

Almost forgot a title

So I pretty much wasted time doing this: http://ihaveopinionstoo.tumblr.com/post/21125921181
And if you want to go read that you could because I'm sure you'll get more me out of that than this.

One thing that happens quite often is me being sick. It's not always with a fever or stomach issues. LIke this past Friday (or yesterday if you prefer) I had gotten what we believe is poison sumac again. So now my face is all red and itchy and it sucks.

Upon my new skin nothing more has really come of this week. Or better yet nothing that has stuck out in my brain that reads as sufficient of telling you. I must admit it is late and thee is about 20 minuets left of Saturday to write this.

Though being sick sucks I did find something that doesn't. That is the wonderfulness that is Merlin. Not only did it have Eve Myles from Torchwood in the first episode, but Anthony Head from Buffy the Vampire Slyer. Extra bonus points because of what happens in season six of Buffy. No spoilers if you ever end up watching it.

Adam let me just say that that is the best map ever and that I never knew Ireland came in four parts. Kate I hope your portrait ends up being what you want it to be. I know that when I took art classes that was my least favorite assignment.

Deidra I myself am not a fan of anime either. However my friend Jerry has been trying to get me to watch the fist episode of Death Note all year. I might end up doing it but I'm not sure I could handle it. Whenever I try to watch anime shows with my sister I always end up leaving the room. Something about them just makes me laugh. Like I'm seven again watching Pokemon, Yu Gi Oh!, or Digimon on a Saturday morning.

And last but not least Superstitions. No I don't really care for knocking on would or crossing my fingers. I may do them out of habit because of you know being raised around these things but I don't believe that they actually help or serve a purpose. I think it's just us as humans being silly.

That's pretty much all I can do before Saturday is over.

4/07/2012

The almost week. As in I almost did stuff, but then didn't

This new layout confuses me, I'm not quite sure I'm on board with it. I'm having one of those off weeks in which I can't seem to do anything. I've had a mountain of homework all week and this weekend that I haven't managed to complete one piece of. For some odd reason I just haven't been up to doing much, not that I usually want to do a lot in the first place. This post is the most I've actually been able to do. There's like some sort of mental block that's keeping me from doing stuff I know I have to do.

That pretty much sums up the weird spell of laziness I've had this week. Thinking about it I don't think I've picked up a book in ages. Someone direct me to the nearest hospital, I must be deathly ill if I haven't tried reading a book for fun. I told my mom I'd be like two minuets on the computer and I've been on for almost an hour. Vacation can't come soon enough, school is just becoming unpleasant again.

I went on the Ning in like the first time in ages and discovered that they require that you put your zip code. Not that I care too much that people know what town I live in, but it's still the internet and anyone can see that. I don't know, I found it a bit weird that they would go from  not requiring it to requiring it. Side note: I just found the BEST radio station on my iTunes.

So because I haven't had an eventful week there isn't really much to tell you about. My friend liked her gift, even though I only ended up playing happy birthday. I've gotten so distracted while writing this. About the injury stories. The only time I can really recall, Kira, is when I was about seven or eight and I was at a yard sale. I was trying out a new pair of roller skates and fell on a porcelain doll. I had to get stitches, but I hated needles, so I had to get the liquid stitches. You can still see the scar if you look close at my calf.

I can't think of anything else to say. So I guess it's time to say good-bye once again.
~Katie

P.S. Easter colors, so pastel.

3/31/2012

Technically it's still Godiva Eve here.

I'd like to thank you guys for your feedback on Lady Godiva. I too agree that it is a large step from Forever Yours and is on a completely different end of the song spectrum. However weird it is though, I like it. Enough to that when I hopefully have the money I'm going to buy it (and Michael's remix because it was just too amazing).

I know that a lot of people disagree with the way he's getting Godiva to chart, but it's no different from Forever Yours. It's just this time he knew before hand about the remix rule, and decided to do it again. I just feel people are being obnoxious almost because he wants to chart again. It doesn't bother me though, so I don't see why they're in a twist.

Also something that's annoyed me is this article:http://www.nytimes.com/roomfordebate/2012/03/28/the-power-of-young-adult-fiction/adults-should-read-adult-books About how adults should only read books for adults. What a stupid argument in my opinion. It's like saying that because a book was written and set in place for a certain demographic that it's all of a sudden untouchable to anyone outside it.

Also an article about the 'Y Generation' and how self-centered people are today. If you just Google y generation a bunch of articles will come up. The one we had to read in class was about how our generation is full of hypocrites who say we want to be eco friendly. I don't believe that for a minute. Where ever this guy gets his opinion, he may want to double check his resources. I feel like our generation has done amazing things with eco technology. I don't know, what do you guys feel? About the eco and book views?

On a cheerier less suckish note HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY DEIDRA! I'm glad to here that it was so awesome for you! A friend of mine's birthday is coming up this Friday and I wanted to play her Charlie's birthday song on my uke, but I can't get the strumming pattern down, I hope that whatever I decide to give her she like though.

A question that I must have missed last week was the one relating to siblings. I have three older brothers and an older sister. I get along okay with my older brother's, but not so much my sister. We fight on a regular bases, mostly because we share a room, and she's a slob compared to me. We aren't far apart in age, her 17 and me 15, but we have such different personalities. Like she's the one who knows whose who and I'm the girl that hides in the corner and wishes that no one would bother me to do anything.

Campion I feel pretty much the same way when it comes to asking for directions, especially after meeting the people of Boston. Whenever you ask them for directions, they send you all over, giving you the wrong way every time. With out fault I asked for directions to a pizzeria from nine different people and the last one, a police officer, finally gave me the correct way. Only after swearing that I wasn't from New York. So small note, people in Boston are mental.

Adam I can not confirm or deny that where I live in America has a high rate of arrests. Let me Google it...that was a bad decision...So I think one of the articles said there is a high stalking rate in Rhode Island, but I can't confirm or deny that either...However about a month ago someone was arrested like right outside my house for what I can only presume was drunk driving. It was like twelve in the morning and I was sleeping on the couch when the police car lights were all up in my face. It was horrible because it took the like an hour and a half for them to be done with it.

I spell colour "color", because as far as I know it's how we spell it in the America's. Depending I guess on where you live...And I also hate auto correct, because it tried to spell colour color, as it tried to again right then. I find I have to monitor my spelling even more with it than without it. A bit about school and stuff. We are now reading the Catcher in the Rye, which I have already read this past summer, but now I have to actually look for symbolism and crap. I hate analyzing books, a lot. I swear that half the stuff we discuss wasn't really meant to be a symbol. To my surprise I am passing all of my classes except Algebra. I'm not technically failing, but I'm not passing with a grade I'm totally in love with.

One last really cool thing before I go. So in gym or "Wellness" as my school calls it, we played a game called medic. If you haven't heard of it it's basically an over complicated game of dodge ball. If you get hit with the ball from the opposing team and it didn't hit the ground before it got to you, you had to crouch down and shout medic until the designated person arrives to pull you back into the game. The medic however is supposed to be secret from the opposing team. if they hit the medic, than all they have to do is get everyone else crouching and steal the other teams flag. Anyways me and a friend of mine convinced our team to get everyone to call me 'The Doctor' instead of medic. Yes, all that for that floppy ending, but it was so great at the time.

Our encounter this Saturday has been to what few may call long enough, so until next time...

~Katie

P.S. Okay I really hate auto correct. So many words that needed fixing from its wrath!

Mmm...Stress

So... beginnings are tough... can we just skip to the part where things get interesting? Cool.

Today was good, there was an Envirothon lecture on our special topic which is low impact development. The presenters themselves were okay, and I didn't fall asleep so all in all it was a pretty nice morning. What I found most interesting after it ended was how I saw everything after. For example, I went into a parking lot and I just kinda exploded with ideas on how to improve its sustainability.

On to more interesting things, like books! My first John Green book was Paper Towns when I was in the seventh grade. My sister had read the book and was raving about it. I at the time didn't like to read but she convinced me that I had to read the book. I ended up reading Paper Towns and really enjoying it. I like to think of it as my favorite JG book because it was the first book I read outside of an assignment. Looking over at the books (because I own them all) I think my favorite by far is An Abundance of Katherine's. I feel like Katherines' is underrated and extremely amazing. It was so entreating, I remember laughing so hard.

Though Katherines is amazing it's not my favorite book ever, just my favorite JG book. So outside of John's books, what is one of your favorites? Just gazing at the shelves I can't decide, so I'll make a list of five books I think are awesome.

1. Saving Max by Antoinette van Heughten. This book blew my mind, and that's all I have to say.
2. Dear Zoe, by Philip Beard. I haven't read this book in a while but I remember it being really good. I devoured it in a few hours. That good.
3. If I Stay by Gayle Forman. I. Love. This. Book. Words can't begin to describe how much I want to own this book.
4. The Girl with the Pearl Earring by Tracy Chevalier. Realistic fiction has never been more, honestly, real.
5. And lastly, but certainly not least Coraline by Neil Gaiman. One you've all probably heard of. It was my first Neil book. My mother read it to me and my sister when I was about six or seven as a bed time story.

On the topic of Coraline, it is my least favorite literature-to film-adaption. Now that I've gone on about books...what else is there... Music. I like Elton John, but I don't think I know many songs by him per se. He's like Led Zeppelin, I just don't listen to them as much.

On the topic of music I watch this television show called Once Upon and Roger Daltrey is going to be the voice of one of the characters. When I found out I wanted to puke I was that excited.

It was the end of the second trimester on Friday and I'm freaking out because I want my grades to be good. My moms not too over the top, but I can't stand the suspense. I made honor role last time, and I think it would be cool to have that happen again.

Again back to music, have you guys heard Lady Godiva? Thoughts? Okay, until next Saturday...

Community

Hey, so Community is back and that's about the highlight of my week. I think I'll start with a list of good things.

1. First is the newly built bookshelf by my desk. I got all the books moved over, and it just looks really nice.
2. Second I'm sitting in my new comfy desk chair!
3. Community is back on the air because there was such a riot over it being cancelled.
4. I made my friend a pie for memorizing like 70 digits of pi and she really liked it, which made it all the better.
4. I sold two tickets for the Envirothon breakfast in April.
5. I think I'm going to get honor role again this trimester.

Now with everything good comes something bad. Here is what went wrong with my week.

1. I forgot my group's project at school so I can't finish it and it's due Tuesday.
2. My partners in the group are almost intolerable.
3. I haven't started my homework yet, again.
4. I haven't touched the book I was reading all week.
5. I'm weeks behind on my YouTube subscriptions.

That was nice. I had a harder time making the what went wrong list than what went right. Not much has happened, so I don't really have much to talk about. It was really uneventful. Its St. Patrick's Day, but I didn't do much today. Next week however is the end of the trimester, the hunger games movie comes out, I have a dress down day, and it's my brother's birthday. Mind you this is all going on on the 23rd!

There really is nothing more, I'm just going to go to bed I guess. Bye.

3/10/2012

Here it is

So hi, I'm Katie, and I suffer from an extreme case of procrastination, forgetfulness, and laziness. If you didn't know the listed before or if they were not obvious before, they should be now. I like to start off with apologizes for two things, missing my day (again) and for skimming your posts. Don't worry, though, I go back while righting mine to address everything!

This week was one of the better, for the most part. I found out that I really love Massachusetts and want to live there, forever and ever. I can't tell you how much I love it there because I don't think I can put it into words. Also Connecticut is the most kicking place when it comes to clean energy. They use waste-to-energy which burns garbage for energy use! The only in New England I believe and it's European tech with I found more or less awesome. What I can't seem to stand is why everyone doesn't just do this. It seems to take care of the over baring plastic problem, and no toxins are released into the air, so why not? Oh, right, money. Well it saves so much money and I can't get over how cool it is!

Sorry a bit of a rant there but it just fascinates me! Our grade has been learning about energy and revolutions as a part of our whole unit of work this trimester, and we did field work on it this week. Field work is basically like a field trip, but more notes and work go into it. We went to the town of Lowell (pronounced lol) Massachusetts to one of the old cotton mills. Anyway I just found out that I want to live anywhere but Rhode Island because we do nothing to conserve or help the environment and the only thing we're good for is Newport and beaches.

More ranting, yay! I have to stick with Envirothon, but I won't join next year, it's too much pressure not enough fun. I mean if we just went out and helped farms or just talked about something besides tree identification or soils I would be much happier. But eh, life goes on. I thought a great deal about Rhode Island type phrases and there are a few. My mom's from California so she tells me this all the time. Words like wicked are apparently very Rhode island. We say bubbler instead of water fountain, and really just the way we talk.

Being fortunate, I don't have a strong accent, but I know people who do and it's great. In the sense that I role on the ground laughing when they talk. We tend to add R's to words and replace L's with W's. Examples are as followed: 'ider' (idea) 'tawk' (talk). I like language differences, probably way to much.

Thanks for the book help, since I've posted that I've read one book called 'Zipped' by a husband and wife the McNeal's. Great book, I recommend it. I too, have been trying to see how many books I can read in a year, so far I'm at four almost five. Not fast, but I have a good feeling about it all. Our class is reading the Lord of the Flies, and for me it's a second time around. That's a good one, as well as Gatsby! I'm so glad you liked it Adam, I loved it! as well as the Catcher in the Rye, but my friends and family didn't. They tell me it was dragged, or it was too boring, but whatever the excuse, I just don't get it. It was a good book, plain and simple. Thoughts? Have you read it? Did you like it?

News I haven't shared is that I build my new desk last weekend, I have yet to build the bookshelf or chair, oh and I'm typing this on my new iMac. It came on Wednesday and I couldn't believe it! It's so nice, I love it! Also, did I ever mention how much I love musicals? I do, a lot. That and Shakespeare plays, which I need to go see, I haven't seen one in ages. Weird question, but what was your first concert and the most memorable one? My first concert was Bon Jovi, and therefore the most memorable. My mom, sister, and I spent the day in Boston on the first of March last year, which I guess is why I'm bringing it up. That and Bon Jovi's playing on my iTunes.

I'm neglecting finishing my homework. I spent three plus hours today trying to do Algebra, and found that the textbook make a nice step stool. Also on the topic of school, do/did you guys ever e-mail your teachers? I do, and quite a lot. They all have account through the school, and for some reason I find myself constantly e-mailing them. Even when it's not school related. Like this song by The Presidents of the United States of America is called 'Blank Baby' which is based off the theory that humans are born with a blank slate (or blank mind), which our class learned about earlier in the year. I found it this week and e-mailed it to my teacher.

I feel like I always e-mail them things like that, but you know, also about homework. Is it just me? Just curious. I think I've said all I've wanted to cover, so upon request, I'll see you next week!

A Series of Whys

Brought to you by What & Who Inc. It's been a pretty awful week with many lows and a few highs. Mostly because I've had the week off, and have been bored out of my mind. Usually the vacation feels long, and I can't wait to go back to structure after the first few days, but it feels too short and uneventful. I haven't done any work since last Friday. What's weird is that I don't miss anyone really. I mean it would be nice to see friends and a few teachers, but I'm not as ecstatic as I was over winter break. I'm not sure why.

I think it's because of Envirothon. I like it, a bit, but not enough to go through with it. I want to drop it, but there's no other club I would really rather do. I like learning about sustainability, and environmental ways of doing things, or eco news with my state. But you know that click you get when you really like something, and you can't stop learning it, or when you find a book you really like. I just don't have that click when Envirothon comes around.

Wow I sounds joyful. Let's move onto the highs. Kayla's post for a start. I got overly excited when she mentioned Someone That I Used To Know, because my brother showed me that video a while back, and one of his friends was apart of the making of the song or something. Not quite sure, but I thought that was cool.

Another high was Thursday, over here it was 60 degrees Fahrenheit which is I think is around 16 degrees Celsius. I went for a walk around my neighborhood that day, which was nice, but I wore the wrong shoes so I got blisters. The other high was that I wrote a short story as an assignment about the painting Liberty Leading the People for our French Rev. unit and my teacher e-mailed me back saying he liked it. I felt the end lacked detail though. If you want to read it, it's posted here

I've been slowly catching up with Buffy this past vacation, but I'm not much farther past season five. When I'm done I'll start Angel. I've heard of The Walking Dead, but don't know what its about. I seem to be the only one on the internet to have not watched any of Sherlock. I want to, but just haven't gotten to it. Oh, I might get a Mac in a few weeks! I bought a new desk, and a bookshelf to go with it. I'm excited for that.

Do you guys have any tricks to help yourselves stay focused while reading? I seem to be struggling lately with staying on task with books. I've started so many, and can't seem to finish them. And on the topic of humans and animals, if I could choose which to be, I would be an animal. Our emotions and brains worry too much, that and I'd rather be a turtle. I really like turtle's.

As a recap: Vacations are boring, should I stay with Envirothon?, I watch few T.V. shows, reading is hard for some reason, and I long to be a turtle. Until next Saturday...

Bye!♥

Well

It's been ages since I've posted, hasn't it? So much has happened, however I have the memory of a goldfish, so I can only clearly describe the past two days.

First being Friday. We switched our cable company, so we now have Verizon instead of Cox. I realize now that with different companies come different channels. Like, I have this one channel called YouToo which is like YouTube, but for television. They have this program, no joke, called 'Lol pets' and it is just a bunch of animals being cute!

I also just got netflix, which is cool. So I mostly just want to go explore that for awhile, which is why this is so short, apologies. I had an Envirothon meeting today, and these guys behind me had a sonic screwdriver. I was spazing out, but didn't actually go and talk to them. I'm like that a lot.

I like the topic of accents. I think it would be neat to hear all of us in the same room. I'm from Rhode Island, so we tend to add r's to the end of everything, i.e. "idear". The best example though of our accents is when my friends cousins from Ohio came and asked why we all spoke with British accents! That makes me laugh, because people mistake my sister for being English, Australian, and southern. None of which are right, but all equally hilarious.

I must go, and watch the original Star Trek, the first few episodes of Sherlock, Buffy seasons 5-7, and movies.

Bye♥

P.S. My sister and I ordered the Hunger Games off of this site called Alibris, and they came from England. The book uses metric so my sister keeps getting confused!

My nose hurts

So are you guys allergic to any animals? I found out me and my brother are allergic to something in cat's spit. So therefore I've been messing with my nose constantly. That, and I think I'm getting a cold. Nonetheless my week was good. I can't remember half of what happened, but the parts I do remember were great!

We're reading this book in English called Candide by Volitare. Have you guys heard of it? Its so good I recommend it 100%. It's been on Broadway a few times, and we were watching clips during class. My teacher liked it so much he ordered it form amazon in the middle of class. That's one thing I like most about that teacher. He does the strangest things.

Something that surprised me that was important to my education was making honor role. Apparently they sent out an e-mail to parents whose children made honor role, but my mom being not to into the internet didn't tell me. So I had to stand awkwardly in front of the school, probably being the only surprised kid up there. It was nice though.

I want to be able to talk about something besides school, but t seems impossible. Outside of school I have the internet. No social life, parties, special events. Just me, and a computer screen. Speaking of computers I am very close to a new one! Just a few more weeks and BAM.

It feels very weird to be posting on Saturday, but in a good way I guess. To clear something up I am in fact left-handed. Kate I've been trying to get The Name Of the Star for ages from the library. The ting is is that my library hates to be awesome. I wanted to save money, so I tried ordering school books (one being Candide) instead of buying them. What ended up happening was Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell in Spanish and not English. I mean I know it was hard to understand me over the phone, but IT CAME IN SPANISH. French the llama, guys, french the llama. So I keep ordering TNOtS but they never actually get it to me. They keep sending it back.

People. I mean especially librarians, who are supposed to be awesome, right? Hey instead of school I talked about books. Good. Right anyway what is a coffee crisp? Seriously, I'm interested to know what I lack. While I wait for a response I'm going to go watch Prince Of Egypt with my sister and a brownie.

Bye!<3
