My tests went quite well, I'm not sure about Spanish but German was very easy so that was a relief. I have another important test this week on Calculus, I'm quite nervous about that, but considering I'm writing this post at half 11 and I haven't done any revision yet, I probably can't complain if I find it hard.
The rugby game was really good on Saturday, I enjoyed it so much. Ireland won 42-10 against Italy, they didn't play that well at the start though.Since most of you come from places where rugby isn't all that popular, here's a poorly edited video of the match I was at. It's a little like American Football except you don't wear protective gear, you can't throw the ball forward and you have to touch the ball off the ground in the end bit to score.
Anyway, I finished the book I was reading, it was good. It had a very simple storyline but there was a sort of sadness running through it, it puts "the hollow lust for gold" or want for money into perspective as something we have to try and live without. I've started reading "The Great Gatsby", it's quite a classical old-fashioned book, but it's extremely enjoyable so far. I think reading books like Harry Potter (wonderfully crafted stories with immersive worlds though they may be) are too easy to read. I just mean that I can float through a harry potter book without paying full attention and still enjoy the book, it is to books what Ed Sheeran is to music, very talented but at the same time I don't need to concentrate fully to appreciate the song. But with something like the great gatsby I have to really focus to realise how brilliant and insightful the language is. I just love the quote "...what foul dust floated in the wake of his dreams that temporarily closed out my interest in the abortive sorrows and short-winded elations of men."
Ok, I should probably go study for my calculus test. Also, muppets were really good. :)
DFTBA
Adam
