The evil-ness that is winter is on its way. This week has been bitterly cold, and we even got a dash of snow one day. It didn't stay, melted the same day that it arrived, but it still signifies the turn of the season. Much too early, I might add. Ususally we don't see snow until Hallowe'en, when we get our (usually) annual snowstorm. Many of my memories of the holiday include being bundle up in weatherproofed costumes and heading out into falling snow or whipping winds.
This early cold just means that I have been wearing my coat and scarf to school each day, and coming home with cold feet. I need to buy new winter boots before we get some real snow. My shoes are fine for now, as the walk to the bus is a short one, but after an entire day in them my feet are sore. Also, I love my scarf. It's maroon and yellow, and super-cozy and warm. It sort of looks like a Gryffindor house scarf, except not. I'd love to have one in blue and white or silver-ish, to be more Ravenclaw, since that's the house I connect most with.
I love your photos, Kayla. Especially the railroad one. It kind of makes you feel like you could keep looking forever, like things can keep going on and on, and never stop. Really optimistic. Also, Vampires Suck was an amazing movie. I actually prefer it over Twilight, and I don't really mind those movies. I mean, they have their flaws (many, many flaws), but they weren't completey bad. And the books were the same. I enjoyed them, but only for their face value. Once you start really looking at them, they start to depreciate.
*Stands awkwardly in the corner* Sorry Katie, but I think I will enjoy your dance party from afar. I don't really enjoy dancing, not any kind of it. I don't think I can even do the arm flailing with enough dignity. I'm just too painfully shy and awkward for that kind of stuff. I'm glad that you are liking English and History, though. The humanities are what I love and excel in, especially English. It is was I am hoping to study in university. It was also an amazing, funny, joking teacher who made me really love it.
Never feel bad about complaining, Kate. That's what we're here for. Vent all you need. Good luck with your blogging, I am looking forward to it. If you look on my blog, I have recently posted some things that you could do for posts when you have nothing to write about. They are mostly questions and things of that sort. Also, book blogs can be fun to write and read. I am always interested in knowing what you reading. (I am book nerdy) A question though: why would you get extra credit for bringing tissues to class?
Kira, I am glad that the pictures reminded of home. I hope that this week was better for you in terms of homesickness. I know that if I had to leave Canada, I would probably be sad forever. Unless I moved to London, as it has kind of been my dream to visit/live there for as long as I can remember. But then again, I am a home person. I don't like to stray too far from here.
Campion, I am so glad that you got a chance to post. The view from your home is beautiful. Reminds me of when I lived out at the lake a bit. Except we had more trees, and less hills. Yes, many, many more trees. I think I am the opposite of you, but for the same reason. I prefer to be up late, when everyone is sleeping, as opposed to up early. It is quiet, and no sounds or annoyance from my sister or parents. A lovely change from the day time. Plus, I am a horrible morning person. Though quiet; I don't tend to like to talk to people in the morning.
My days are getting colder and shorter. Hallowe'en is drawing near. I am procrastinating more and more on homework, though I really shouldn't be. Since I haven't asked a question in a really long time, I think I will. What is your favourite mythical creature? Don't forget to be awesome, and have a good weekend.
