I spent Friday night reading the last 150 pages of the Fault in Our Stars. I'm not going to post any spoilers, but WOW. It's definitely may favorite stand-alone book. I laughed, I cried (I cried even more when connecting things from the book to my life), it was amazing. I definitely recommend you read it if you haven't yet. I know I've already interested my non-nerdfighter friend.
My first week of classes went well. I already like all of my teachers. Hopefully I don't think I will have a lot of homework, at least not compared to last semester. Most of the time that had been spent doing homework last semester will go to practicing my violin this semester.
I don't know if I've said, but the band/orchestra conducted recommended me to the teacher in charge of our school's annual musical, so I will be in the orchestra pit playing the music. We had our first rehearsal yesterday. There weren't as many people there as I expected. I did better than I thought I would, but there's still a long way to go.
I've always liked the idea of a bucket list, but I've never really made one. I think would feel pressure to do everything on the list. But I do have a bunch of things I would love to do/accomplish such as meeting youtubers/inspirational people, publish a novel, and be a fun teacher.
On the subject of same-sex marriage, it's my belief that the marriages should be legal or at least recognized. The topic of homosexuality and same-sex marriages is probably the one topic I get really pushy (that's not quite the right word, but I can't think of the right word) about, especially when talking about the United States. We are supposed to be a free country, but people are hypocrites so it's really isn't free.
I hope all of you have a great week.
Kate
