Super Special Birthday Post

Hey guys posting this at like really close to twelve again, but this time I have a good reason. I wanted to do everything, including prom, before I posted so that I could talk about it. I won't post pictures because half of them are on a friends camera, maybe I'll put them in a later post.

But yeah, so it's my 18th birthday! Yaaaay! I had a really good day actually. It was super full of stuff and super fun. First I had to finish decorating for prom, it turned out pretty good I think. Not as extravagant as some years, but still really nice. Our theme was A Starry Night. At lunch Deidra gave me her present, it was a bunch of manga, a painting she made of the Starry Night with the TARDIS flying in it, and this super epic awesome Tumblr card. I had no idea what I was going to get from her so I was super excited about her gift.

Then I did a bunch of school stuff and then when I got home I hurried to finish my Data Report, which I left until today because I'm stupid and was feeling really lazy. But I got it in with time enough for me to get ready for prom. (Though I had to rush a bit.)

Then we went to the dance. We had to do the coat check for a while since we are on student council but it was at the beginning when nobody was really dancing yet so I didn't mind. Once we were done we actually got everyone to dance with us. Everyone is really shy about dancing first usually so we just went right for it with several other friends and eventually we had a huge group going. And I don't really know how to dance at all, but I did anyway, just kinda bouncing around and stuff. And yeah we totally ended up dancing for like a solid two hours. My feet are killing me now. But it was worth it, this was probably the funnest dance I've been to. I think it's because Deidra was there so I didn't feel as awkward. It was really fun.

Also I'm going to Thunder Bay tomorrow to pick up my sister and to visit with family to celebrate my sister's birthday (day before mine), my birthday (today!), and my Papa's birthday (also today!). So that should be lots of fun. My sister is staying until after my grad so I have a couple days to spend with her which is nice.

DFTBA and have super awesome weekends,
Kayla

Busy Day

Today has been an extremely busy day. We started setting up the gym for the prom tomorrow, and that is one huge job. It meant being on my feet literally all day, and now I'm exhausted. We are only about halfway through, though most of the grunt work is done. I can't wait until the decorating is finished.

Along with decorating, I have to get Kayla's birthday surprise finished. It's just about done, only the final details and wrapping to be done now. It's weird, because I'm more excited for her birthday than I was for mine.

There is now less than one month of school left. We do things weirdly here, and have our graduation ceremony before we write our final exams. It is kind of unsettling to think that I am graduating in a week. I really wish that was the end, and I wouldn't have to write final exams. *sigh*  Oh well, what can you do.

Katie, despite the fact that I don't drink tea, I am very jealous of your TARDIS mug. The only kind I've ever seen in stores are the disappearing TARDIS mugs. Never any that are actually shaped like it. Waterfire sounds like it was a really fun experience. The statue people remind me of the Weeping Angels, in a less creepy way. Also, the fire dance looked pretty cool.

Sounds like you have a busy summer planned, Kate. I am not 100% sure what I'm doing with my time off. Hopefully some travelling. I've also got to pack up my stuff and move into my dorm at the end of the summer. I don't know if I'm looking forward to that or not. In terms of driving partners, we seem to have opposing problems. I cannot drive with my mother, she's a little too high strung. I prefer to drive with my dad. And yeah, I still can't drive on my own. I didn't get my first class license until I was 17, and still really don't drive at all. There's no appeal for me.

It's been a long day, and I'm not even finished everything that I need to do. So I'm going to go and do that. Hope you all had wonderful weeks, and I wish you amazing weekends. Don't forget to be awesome!

Plans for the Future Near and Far

I've been super super lazy all this week. I think I'm already in my summer mood, so I have very little motivation to do school stuff. Which is bad because everything is starting to get busy as prom and grad draws nearer and exams are in a month.

I did get to see the Avengers last weekend. I won't spoil anything, but I thought the movie was pretty great. I ended up liking Bruce Banner/Hulk and Tony Stark/Iron Man more than I thought I would. Originally I liked Thor and Captain America the best, but now I'm not too sure who's my favourite.

Thanks for your compliments on my Ood drawing. I did end up making another one, of the Silence, as a present for Deidra this time. I'm planning on doing more Doctor Who aliens, but there's so many that I want to do and like I said, schools getting really busy, so I'm not sure when/how often I'll be able to make them.

Kira, yeah my birthday's on the first. I'm really excited for it, but boy oh boy is it going to be a busy day. I have to finish decorating for prom that day, do a calculus test, hand in the written component of my data management ISU (which I will hopefully have done well before that day), do my post on here, get ready for prom, go to prom, ditch early so I can go home and celebrate my birthday with Deidra, and then if the weather cooperates and I can find our tent then we're going to sleep out in my yard. Lol I hope that's not packing too much into one day.

Deidra up until probably this grade I have always only ever imagined myself as living in Canada for the rest of my life, preferably not in Geraldton or Thunder Bay, but somewhere in Canada. I enjoy living here. However I have more recently considered the fact that I might rather live elsewhere. Definitely not the United States. Maybe somewhere like England (just because), Australia (also just because), Japan (always wanted to at least travel there for an extended period of time), or Finland (because it seems really nice and I have a lot of relatives there). Some other European countries sparked my interest as well. But in all honesty I'm not sure if I would ever be able to move so far away, to such a different and new place. It would definitely be an adventure.

Food on the Brain

I've been super busy again this week, but I suppose it wasn't all that bad or anything. I had to do a bunch of art stuff for class (which I'm still not done), do work for the rest of my classes, and then finish my stuffs for Deidra's birthday. And I'll say happy birthday again right now just to have it in the post, even though I said it yesterday a couple times. And I will give you an internet cupcake since you usually do it for us. (I'd love to jump in that and just eat it all.)

In other news that's not really news. Um, everything's been going pretty good. I officially accepted my offer from the University of Ottawa. I had a stupid calculus test today. My room is a complete mess and I have to clean is still before Deidra comes over tomorrow. And yeah, enough rambling.

Katie, I don't really have favourites because it's so hard to decide but I do like The Book Thief by Markus Zusak, The Uglies series by Scott Westerfeld, and Storm Thief by Chris Wooding. I heard Lady Godiva, but honestly didn't really enjoy it.

Adam, that picture up there is a beaver tail. It's essentially a flat oval of dough that's fried and then they put a bunch of delicious toppings on it. That one has nutella and bananas, but my favourites are the plain cinnamon sugar one or the delicious maple butter one. Also, I'm reading The War of the Worlds right now. I'm like half way through, but I haven't had time to finish it yet. And about the crime rate thing, fun fact: Thunder Bay, the city closest to me and the one I visit the most often was named "murder capital of Canada" last year, not sure if anything has changed since then. (But even then it's not that bad honestly, you don't have to be scared to walk the streets minus this one place.)

Campion, I kind of get how you feel. I hate asking people for things like directions or help in a store so I usually just wander around until I find what I'm looking for. And yay! Another Avatar fan! I loved Avatar: The Last Airbender and I'm so happy that they're making a new series for it. Who was your favourite character? Mine was Sokka just because I thought he was really funny, but I also really loved Toph (she was totally hardcore). Have you seen the first two episodes of The Legend of Korra yet? I have, they were awesome. Finally, I spell colour the same as you, I'm pretty sure "color" is the American way of spelling it, if that was what you were referring to.

And now I leave you with this: There's something called pizza cones that I really want to try now that I've discovered its existence. Did you guys know such a thing existed? And you guys should totally listen to this Doctor Who Theme Dubstep. It's pretty good, even though I usually don't like dubstep.
